Wordshark 5 Placement Test

Wordshark 5 includes its own placement test. In order to use this:

  1.  Sign into the program as the pupil you wish to take the test

  • Go to ‘Change word list’, bottom right of the screen
  • From the Choose course’ section on the left hand panel, highlight the ‘Wordshark course’ at the top of the list
  • This will open up the Wordshark course in the middle section.
  • Go down to the bottom of the ‘Change course’ section on the left hand panel
  • Locate and Click the ‘Test’ button
  • When the pupil is ready to start click ‘Start Test’

  • The test will then start. The word is spoken and, where available, a visual clue is given
  • The test does not have to be completed in one sitting and the pupil can exit using the red X n the corner of the screen
  • When they click ‘Test’ again they can either continue the test where they finished or restart it
  • The test will go through a series of words, click next after the end of each batch to move to the next list
  • The student will be prompted when they have completed the test
  • Click on OK then the pupil will be taken to the word list
  • The result of the last test is kept (unless they click on retake and are mid-test) so the pupil can return to the word list at any time by clicking on the Test button again
